search function for support.tpo

Hi Linus, I know you're just getting started as sysadmin, but I want to check in with you about something we're hoping to get for support.torproject.org: a search function. The ticket was temporarily closed since we couldn't figure out a way to do search: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/25322. But maybe you can help? Happy to provide more info as needed. Hi it's taken me all morning to get somewhere on your site just to ask a simple question, do I have to donate to use tor because if so I am giving you my personal and bank details isn't your site about annonimity ?????? If I don't have to donate could you please tell me how to access tor thanks.

Building Tor Browser

Hello, I am actually working on modifying some parts of Tor Browser for my project and for that I will need to build Tor Browser's source code. I was following this website <https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorBrowser/Hacking> and after cloning tor-browser-build repo, I did a make nightly-linux-x86_64, which took almost half a day to complete on my Ubuntu 18.04 system. But, since I would be making some changes to the browser (mostly Firefox code), I need to alter code and build again and again. In the above website, there is an option for '*Building Just Firefox*' and I decided to try that. As per the above website/doc, I cloned tor-browser repo and followed the instructions. First, the command make $CONFIGURE_ARGS -f client.mk configure CONFIGURE_ARGS="--with-tor-browser-version=tbb-nightly --with-distribution-id=org.torproject --enable-update-channel=default --enable-bundled-fonts" gave me : client.mk:40: /.mozconfig-client-mk: No such file or directory client.mk:72: *** client.mk must be used via mach. Try running ./mach configure. Stop. ./mach configure was not working as well, but using this webpage <https://hg.mozilla.org/integration/autoland/rev/36f4ba2fb6f5>, I patched the *init.configure* file and it worked. But now when I run ./mach build, it finally gives (after doing a lot of compilation): So could anyone please guide me as to how should I go about doing this. Basically as I had said in the beginning, I just want to modify and rebuild to test the new code that I would be introducing. Kindly help me out. I actually asked this question on Tor's stack exchange as well, but I didn't get any help, so I really hope I can get some help here. Warm Regards, Rishabh Raj

Hi everyone, I was discussing on irc the desire to create training videos for advocacy towards activists, paralegals, lawyers and journalists. About me: Almost finished a paralegal diploma at my college. IT in the legal industry is a mess. A lot of work has to be done here locally in Ontario Canada. Done With The Tor Browser

Hello: I started using the Tor Browser several months ago, and I really liked it. Recently, however, you disabled the following extensions/themes that I installed from the Mozilla website: Sebastian Kitty (Theme) Addblock Plus (Extension) Privacy Badger (Extension) Roboform Password Manger (Extension) No Script (Extension) DuckDuck Go Privacy Essentials (Extension) Now I get all kinds of crap when I attempt to browse the Internet with Tor (scripts, advertisements etc.). I like to be able to control my browser, but you folks at the Tor Project have done away with all that; something about themes and extensions being unverified. I USED to have them all installed in the Tor Browser without any problem, but now all of them have been disabled and there are no substitutes for any of them (besides, why would I use a "substitute" for an extension/theme that's already doing an adequate job?). Tried to install some things from the Mozilla website but apparently extensions and themes from Mozilla are pretty much ALL incompatible with the Tor Browser. NO THANK YOU! I'm going back to using Brave and Firefox. Neither Firexfox or Brave present any problems when it comes to using the extensions and themes that I've been using for years (my personal preference is "Brave" It looks like Google Chrome but it ISN'T Google Chrome (I want nothing to do with Google) and it's a LOT faster than Firefox). Seriously- what good is any browser when you disable themes and extensions? I'm not about to recommend Tor to ANYone at this point (I had been doing that but today it stops). Far as I'm concerned you browser is broken. Later cats. This kittin' is splittin' David
