Hi all. Quick question, any objections to us dropping the projects wiki?
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/org/projects
It's years out of date and redundant with the volunteer page, which I continue to update on occasion...
https://www.torproject.org/getinvolved/volunteer.html.en#Projects
I'm asking here in case there's any strong objections, or folks want us to keep something from it.
Cheers! -Damian

There's also https://www.torproject.org/projects/projects
which is missing a few services. I was meant to update it a couple weeks ago... but my to-do list has grown a lil bit since then and this has lost its priority.
Bests,
Hi all. Quick question, any objections to us dropping the projects wiki?
The static 'www' is not well suited to the dynamic community project and updating work of the 'trac'. So conceptually... I suggest moving everything other than the base descriptions (then linking from there out to trac) from these two...
https://www.torproject.org/projects/projects https://www.torproject.org/getinvolved/volunteer.html.en#Projects
out to this...
and then making a subsection or subpage therein for volunteers and the smaller informal projects.

I could see the advantages in that if there was a high degree of involvement in this area (wikis enable collaboration in a way static sites don't). However, in practice I'm the sole person keeping the page updated. The static site allows a nicer presentation so think I'll leave it there.
The wiki I cited is pretty old - is there anything from it we want to keep?

It could be that since the content is somewhat triplicated over the three urls, no one knows where to join in, how, who to contact, etc. Wiki is a mess overall.

Artwork over content perhaps.

What will become of all the then orphaned wiki pages be rehomed to what listpage? Where then will the unofficial unfunded or unbacked projects on there be listed?

Agreed.

Gap between v72 and v73: 10 months. Iirc this wiki came out of a dev meeting where folks wanted to enumerate everything we had. The volunteer page does a better job of this nowadays.

Not sure what you're trying to say, but I'd argue the content on the site is way better too. ;)

This is a fair point. As you mentioned the wiki is a mess. I'm biased to drop unmaintained pages, especially if it's a duplicate, but I can't say I care very strongly.
I'll leave it alone and just continue to maintain the volunteer page.
