Hi everyone, We've had reports of increasing delivery failure rates at other providers, particularly gmail, from multiple parties in the course of the last few weeks / months. It might be worth falling back to an alternative provider if you have access to one, for your @torproject.org email, otherwise you might miss some email. Inversely, if you have a hard requirement to reach @gmail.com people right now, you may want to use another provider or use a gmail account directly. We're working on emergency mitigations for this problem. I should come up with a proposal tomorrow and work should start next week. In the meantime, status.torproject.org has been updated. However, because some translation-sponsored work is ongoing, some projects will still be translated on Transifex until the end of the sponsor contract. The main goal is to improve the network health, by building a trusted operator community and combating malicious relays. The coordination of this work is happening during the Network Health weekly meetings on IRC (#tor-meeting), every Monday at 1600 UTC. Because of all the protests in Iran, we saw a massive increase in the network size of snowflake proxies. Although more snowflake standalone proxies are still needed, in October, we reached a peak of more than 110k snowflake proxies. After a long break, relay operators and the Tor Project met in October during the Tor Relay Operator Meetup. Network Team - Upcoming tor.git 0.4.7.11 release - November 2022

Greetings, Network team will be releasing either Wednesday or Thursday (November 9th or 10th 2022) a new stable release from the 0.4.7.x series. We've been working a lot on this stable version to add fixes to help against the network denial of service. This is an important release that we hope will help us fight this DoS better. Upcoming versions: - 0.4.7.11 @network-team: It is _now_ a good time to start reviewing changes/ files: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/core/tor/-/tree/main/changes Last, we've asked the dirauth to recommend this version few minutes ago.
