Hi!
The call for proposals is open for fosdem [0] as well as the stand submission [1] . It would be great to have Tor people from Europe giving a talk in the main track and setting up a stand.
Any volunteer?

I could go, especially if we combine it with other Tor events like last time.
Hi,
I’m happy to do either depending on budget also. We should also figure out who is going to go to the Mozilla All Hands to make sure we spread ourselves out optimally :)
Thanks!

I liked being in the booth last year, and I could do it again. I hope to meet more Mozilla localization people there too.

hey everyone!
i will go to fosdem for sure. i am up for volunteering at a booth, and have taken it on myself to try to organise a "decentralized internet and privacy" devroom, with some aid from folks who have taken this upon themselves previous editions.
it would be very nice if someone would like to do a tor-related talk there. if the devroom proposal is accepted by fosdem orga, a cfp would follow first half of october.
for swag i can also offer a belgian post address, if that would be desired (and get the swag on-site as well).
kind regards, brabo.

Hi everyone,
I can help to coordinate this from the Tor Project side.
Some deadlines to take into account:
September 20 - deadline for devroom proposals October 11 - deadline for main track proposals November 1 - deadline for stand submissions November 22 - deadline for lightning talk proposals
So… I think we don’t have time to organise ourselves to write a proposal for a Tor devroom, but I think we’d be happy to take part in the decentralized internet and privacy devroom. We just need to do the CFP submission deadline if it gets accepted.
Let’s start thinking about a main track proposal and who could/would like to present it.
In the meantime I will start filling in the application form for the stand. It would be good if we can share it with some other organisation like Tails, so please let us know if your organisation would be interested in sharing this. We would be aiming to have the stand for both days.
Thanks!
Pili

hey nicolas!
we now also have https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/org/meetings/2020Brussels to keep some overview of who will be there and what they want to help with.
as a short update to that page: i'm in the process atm to try to get us a confirmed location to have a Tor relay operators meetup.
we basically have as options: - on event registration for a BoF room. disadvantages are, we have no idea when/where to inform interested parties beforehand. and no idea how many people the room can sustain. - look in the fringe. there may be opportunities to do it very close or even on campus, but outside the fosdem orga.
warm greetings, brabo.
At GlobaLeaks Project we're applying for a talk and are considering for a small stand.
Given the interrelationship with Tor, Anonimity, Crypto and Internet Freedom Community, if Tor Project is going to be there with a stand, we would be happy to share a place or stay one each other :-)
Please let us know if you are considering to do that like in 2018, with FSFE and Tor one aside the other, we may just aggregate with our small table!

Hi naif,
I just submitted a main track talk and I already submitted for a stand earlier this week. Fingers crossed we actually get one this time as we missed out last year :)
We would also be happy to aggregate tables and/or share if, for whatever reason, either of us ends up not getting a space.
Thanks!

Hi naif,
(Removing speaking@ alias to reduce noise)
Just circling back on this thread as we were not accepted for a stand in the end :(
However, I see that FSFE were accepted for a stand. I personally don’t have any contacts there… Do you know who at FSFE is organising the stand and whether they would be happy to share with us?
Other than that, we are coordinating Tor Project presence on this page[1]. We look forward to meeting many of you at FOSDEM!
Thanks!
Pili
