Ok everyone, we've got another build for TBB 3.5rc1. You know what they say: 5th time's a charm!
Please test this. The New Identity and localization bugs should both be fixed, though reports from Windows and Mac will be helpful: https://people.torproject.org/~linus/builds/3.5-rc-1-build5/
Again, barring issues the plan is to get this on the blog in a few hours, and if there's not a riot in the comments there, we'll turn around and release 3.5-stable a couple days after that.
Thanks!

I do get the same popup too but I never allow it. Sorry for not reporting this.
Sherief, when testing HTML 5 videos, do you do anything other than go to youtube and click the first video you see? You don't change any settings or anything, right?

Tom,
You need to join the html5 video player beta test first and even after that not all videos will work.
See: https://www.youtube.com/html5

Ahhah, now HTML5 videos work for me in XP.

Really? I have never need to specifically enable it.
Some videos don't automatically work, but if you go to share->embed, and get the embed URL, they do. But most videos I try work for HTML5 without enabling. Curious.

Our warning page says so (bullet c): https://www.torproject.org/download/download#warning
Some videos actually work after this.

I did not know about this. It's a lot better to remove the "v" variable and use /embed/VideoID instead of joining the html5 test because it will make every video play.
For example:
This video won't play even if you join the html5 test page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjK1lUA6mGk
but using embed it will work: https://www.youtube.com/embed/gjK1lUA6mGk
Thanks!

It looks like https://duckduckgo.com/ and http://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion both use JS code that calls canvas.getContext("2d").getImageData(). Search for getImageData in https://duckduckgo.com/d1050.js. I guess someone is trying to determine if font smoothing is being used by the browser; I can't say why.
But that is what is triggering the prompt.
