When I've been presented with a donation button that I felt was a fair ask it was aligned my getting what I came for such as Wikileaks, Wikipedia and the EFF.
How about putting the donate button beside the download button and/or at the point of having received the download?  Say, as someone said, that $1 from a download would keep the software/Tor/TBB developers independently funded.
The less beggin and less detail the better, I feel.

The download site is nearly finished. The most current version can be accessed here: http://wpapper.github.io/tor-download-web/

All that's left to implement is changing the URL of the download button when a dropdown is changed (which is implemented, but buggy) and the non-JS fallback (which should be very straightforward).

Does anyone have any more feedback at this point? Styling still needs to be figured out, particularly the background color.

Ah, I apologize. Now I see what you're saying.

I was referring to the latest version of the website in the GitHub repo. Here's a screenshot of the page:

Does that seem good? Or should the donate button be separate?

Actually, what I meant is where do I see the mockup or image or to
whatever you referred?
